Arrowind™ fabric technology creates a unique, flexible protective barrier on the front of the base layer – blocking 80% of those bombarding air particles that create the wind chill effect, while staying as breathable as a leading warp knit base layer.

On the back panel, a super-stretchy wicking fabric ensures you have the freedom to move, and it will quickly transport any sweat build-up away from your skin. You can work up a sweat, safe in the knowledge that you will not also develop a chill.

Thanks to Polygiene® fabric treatment you also won't work up a stink! This is the base layer for your long winter rides.

What is a Windbreaking base layer?
GripGrab’s range of Windbreaking base layers takes the idea of windproof – that is, stopping the wind from reaching your skin – to another level. The Arrowind Windbreaking fabric is a warp knit construction that blocks up to 80% of windchill inducing air particles. However, the clever bit comes from the 20% that does get through: those air particles permeate the material, helping to dry perspiration and keep you comfortable.

Is this base layer entirely windproof or just wind-resistant?
The GripGrab WindBreaking Cycling Base Layer is not windproof, but wind-resistant. The Arrowind-technology blocks up to 80% of the air particles that cause windchill - and allows excess heat to dissipate, avoiding overheating.

When would I wear it?
The most obvious scenario for a Windbreaking base layer is when you are trying to strip back the bulk of your kit and reduce the number of total layers; for example, a Windbreaking base layer could allow you to leave your gilet at home and wear just a long sleeve jersey, but still maintain a level of windchill protection on descents and cold morning starts.

Does the Polygiene Anti-Odour treatment wash out?
Polygiene is applied directly to the fabric, which means it is permanent and will not wash out. Polygiene silver salt technology is only active on the textiles itself. Polygiene is not nanosilver.

Top Qualität, hält auch in Island den Wind zuverlässig ab

Ich hatte mir diesen Windbreaker als Unterzieher für meine Island-Radreise geholt und war sehr froh damit diese dabei zu haben. Trotz Sommer hatte ich Schnee & Eis und starken Wind. Der Unterzieher hat nicht nur den Wind gut abgehalten, auch hat er gut zum Wärmeerhalt beigetragen. Er sitzt soweit bequem - jedoch wenn man mehr als ein Tag ohne Waschmöglichkeit unterwegs ist, merkt man das Mash im Rücken durch die Salzkristalle auf der Haut. Dies kann dann etwas unangenehm sein - für die tägliche Ausfahrt stellt das jedoch kein Problem da.
