As the cool temperatures and wet conditions of autumn and winter begin to creep in, the fully waterproof and breathable membrane in these gravel shoe covers will shield your feet from puddle splashes and downpours, but also let them breathe – keeping them dry and comfortable.

Q&A

Will they keep my feet dry?
Yes. The membrane in these shoe covers is waterproof, so assuming you don’t damage this membrane they will keep your feet dry. There are limits however… hosepipes and knee-deep puddles for example, will likely find a way inside.

Will they keep my feet warm?
These shoe covers are most suited to cool and mild conditions and can be used in cold conditions depending on the rider's preference. While the waterproof membrane will help a lot with keeping you warm, this is not a deep winter product and we do not advise wearing it on cold or sub-zero long rides.They might not be warm enough for everyone in colder winter conditions, but this is also highly individual.

Are the Explorer overshoes also compatible with flat pedal shoes or road cycling shoes?
No, the Explorer shoe covers are exclusively designed to be used with slim mountain bike or gravel bike shoes. They are best suited for off-road race shoes with laces or dials. Sharp ratchets should be avoided. For road cycling shoes, have a look at the Flandrien Knitted Shoe Covers that are designed specifically for road bike shoes.

Can I wash these shoe covers in the washing machine?
No, please do not put these shoe covers in the washing machine. Only hand wash, for example with a garden hose or damp cloth. Do not bleach, Do not wring, Do not tumble dry, Do not iron. Let hang to dry.

Wear Tip

To help reduce water seeping in through the top of this shoe cover we recommend you wear your water-resistant leg warmers or cycling bib tights over the top of the shoe cover cuff. We also recommend you seal vents and holes in the soles of your cycling shoes to limit water ingress from below. Following these tips will ensure you get the best performance from this product.
