Q&A

Will they keep my feet warm and dry?
Yes. They are made from 4mm waterproof neoprene. They protect your feet against dirt and spray when riding in wet and cold conditions.

Can I use them with SPD shoes for MTB, gravel or other off-road riding?
No. This version of the RaceThermo is designed for use with road cycling shoes only. If you are looking for an SPD-compatible version for MTB, gravel or other off-road styles, check out the RaceThermo X Waterproof Winter MTB/CX Shoe Covers.

How do I get the optimal performance?
For optimal performance we recommend wearing the zipper-less cuff of the shoe cover next to your skin, with your water-resistant tights or leg warmers over the top. This improves the seal and reduces the water seeping in as it rolls down your leg. For enhanced protection you can add our CyclinGaiter as well. To avoid water ingress from below, we recommend taping over the holes and vents in the sole of your cycling shoes.

Are they difficult to put on?
This shoe cover features a zipperless design that gives a snug fit around the shoe and calf so water cannot penetrate through a zip. This makes them a bit different to put on compared to other shoe covers, and we recommend watching our video to see how it's done. Don't worry, after a couple of times you'll be an expert. Please note that you put these shoe covers on before you put on your road bike shoes. Open the hook-and-loop closure strap on the sole, slide them on over your socks, put your shoes on and then pull the covers down over the shoes.

Can I also use these overshoes with winter cycling shoes?
The purpose of using winter cycling shoes is that you don't need to wear shoe covers. If you still want to do so, please choose at least one size larger to accommodate the bulk of winter boots.

The RaceThermo shoe covers give that racing look while effectively shielding your feet and shoes from the elements.

Wear Tip

Attach a rear light to the strap on the heel of the shoe covers to maximise visibility.

Tape over the vent holes on your cycling shoes to avoid water ingress from below.

Good fit needs effort first time

Fits well and is of course really bright. Haven't tested out in any inclement weather yet but I've had other gripgrab stuff and the quality has been good thus far.One word of caution. When these first arrived and I tried to put them on they felt a size small for the shoe even though I'd ordered based on seller info on size guide. I nearly began the process of sending them back before giving it another go. But basically, follow the instructions to the letter and then really pull the front bit hard over the toe section. There is resistance on your first use but if you've got the size as per guidance then a bit of persistence needed to get it slotted in. After that it starts to mold into shape and gets easier with each use.

Expensive but Good

Firstly … you buy your shoe size! Well, that’s what I did and they are a ‘good fit’! I haven’t used them yet on the road, as I am wearing out my old Aldi ones first. That said it won’t be long until I am using them … and I ride with someone who uses these Grip Grab cycling shoe covers and his reports about Quality and Functionality are good! So, as I say, “expensive” but reports are good and I am happy with my purchase.
